Music
Curriculum
Intent
At Grafton Primary School, we aim to inspire a life-long love of music by providing every child with opportunities to listen to, perform, compose and appreciate music from a wide range of genres, cultures and historical periods. We believe that music is a universal language that fosters creativity, confidence and emotional expression. Music is linked where possible to topics being studied, whilst maintaining a focus on each musical elements and ensuring a progression in knowledge and skills.
Children at Grafton learn to play different instruments including the ocarina, glockenspiels and the trumpet.
We use the Charanga scheme of work to inform our music teaching.
