Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

This is where you will be able to find out about the latest and greatest things we are learning, find links to things you can do online to help you with your learning and see photos and videos of the things we have done.

We have moved all of our online teaching and learning to the Google Classroom platform.

Google Classroom Charter

 

Homework 

Homework is for all children and consolidates the learning that children have covered in class each week. Homework tasks can be completed in homework books. Their homework books will also contain their Mathletics logins.

From this point on, all homework will be set on Google Classroom. Homework will be set on Fridays and will be due in for the following Friday.

Weekly homework will consist of:

• 1 Maths task
• 1 Literacy task
• Your child is also expected to be doing some reading on Epic, as well as using Mathletics and Times Table Rock Stars.

Children must read at home for at least 4 days a week. The reading they do can be from their school reading book, a book at home or from Epic. The reading children are doing needs to be recorded in their reading record books.

Reading record books need to be returned to school every Friday and will be handed back out every Monday. However, school reading books can be changed on any school day. When changing a school book during the week, only bring in the school reading book and not the reading record book.

 Homework books should not return to school at all. 

 

Reading

Reading records will be sent home on Mondays and will need to be returned to school on Fridays.

You can read your own books at home or library books and sign these books into your reading records too.

Please remind your adult to ask you questions about the text you have read or retell the story you have read. Use a dictionary to find the meaning of new words too.

If you do not return your reading record and book on Friday, please wait until the following Friday to hand in, due to current guidelines.
