In order to achieve a Healthy School status, schools have to demonstrate evidence in the core themes using a whole-school approach involving the whole school community:
- personal, social and health education including sex and relationship
- education and drug education (including alcohol, tobacco and volatile substance abuse);
- healthy eating (Pupils have the confidence, skills and understanding to make healthy food choices.)
- physical activity; and
- emotional health and wellbeing (including bullying)
All of these core themes are linked to the subjects P.S.H.E. and P.E. In October 2010, Grafton Primary School as achieved its Healthy School Status.
In March 2017, Grafton Primary School achieved its Silver Healthy School Status.
We are currently working towards achieving our Gold Healthy School Status.
