After your child has been offered a place you will be invited to a meeting to talk about the Nursery and what to expect.

You will then be given an appointment for a home visit which will take place in September. This visit is very important as it will give you more information about the Nursery and give you a chance to meet and get to know the staff. There will be two members of staff visiting.

Apply on-line for a reception school place now:

During the home visit you will be given a date for your child to visit the Nursery and for when your child will be starting the full session. We appreciate that some of you may be keen to get your children in as soon as possible but we feel that it is important that we meet all families in an informal setting first before they start Nursery.

** Admissions for Nursery and Reception September 2020 **

We have been busy in school planning for September and are looking forward to meeting everyone. Over the course of this week, we will be posting updates and sending out further information to Parents/Carers that we hope will give you all the information you need to get your child ready for starting in their new class. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we are unable to carry out our usual ‘Meet the teacher’ and ‘Nursery Picnics’ that we would usually do in the Summer term, however, we will be sending out some booklets with staff photographs, important diary dates, an invitation to come and have a meeting with us in school in September and some top tips for summer learning.

We know that many of you may be worried about your child starting school, especially if you have never visited Grafton Primary School. Our priority is ensuring that all the children and their families feel happy and excited about starting school and that it will be a very positive experience. We work hard to build positive relationships with both the children and their families and although we may have to do a few things differently, we will endeavour to elevate any worries and answer any questions you may have. We have an open-door policy and will always make ourselves available to talk to you. This week until the end of term, the Nursery and Reception team will begin to make contact with families, introducing themselves, informing you which class your child will be in and talking to you about your child. If your child is starting in Reception, we will also be sending out our admissions form for you to complete. (If your contact details have changed since you completed your application for a place in either Nursery or Reception, could you please telephone the office on: 020 3 727 5171 to update us).

We look forward to introducing ourselves to you and beginning our work together. At Grafton Primary School ‘Together we learn. Together we achieve.’
