This week in Year 3
Week beginning 2nd March 2020
This week in Literacy, we read the story of Egyptian Cinderella. Children really liked this version of the story and thought it was quite interesting. We compared the story with the original Cinderella and discussed which version we preferred and why. Additionally, we looked at character descriptions, specifically focussing on a character's personality and appearance.
In Geography, we have been learned about the archaeologist Howard Carter and his discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. We have also learned about mummification. In Science, we have been learning about the life cycle of plants. Moreover, this week children dissected and labelled a lily. While in maths, we have been doing assessments and will resume multiplication and division next week.
Lastly, on Thursday it was World Book Day and children absolutely loved it! It was wonderful to see children, teachers and other members of staff dressed as some of their favourite characters. Moreover, I personally loved seeing children so full of life and so passionate when talking about their characters and favourite books.
