27th January 2020
This week in Literacy children in Year 3 read the story of Pharaoh Tutankhamen. They really enjoyed this story and spent the week building up to re-writing it in their Literacy books. In History, we are continuing to learn about Ancient Egypt. This week we looked specifically at the Black lands and Red lands of Egypt and drew our own maps of them.
In Maths, we have continued our work with multiplication and division, focusing more towards answering word problems. In Science this week, we continued to learn about light. Children worked in pairs to arrange statements into true and false piles. They then used their mirrors to test to see if the statements were indeed true or false.
Furthermore, I would once again like to stress just how brilliant the projects are that we have received each day from the children. Therefore, please do look forward to our Egyptian day when we shall showcase these fine projects.
To conclude this week’s news, please do encourage your children to engage with Mathletics and Times Table Rockstars.
