We have had a very busy week in year 3. On Monday and Tuesday, we completed our Maths and English assessments. In Literacy we have learnt about punctuating a dialogue and finding alternative words to ‘said’ We have also written extended sentences, which made our writing more interesting and informative.

In Maths, we have learnt about turns and directions. Children used right –angle testers to check whether their angles were greater than or less than a right angle. They also followed instructions to make right-angled turns.

In Science, pupils measured the strength of magnets in different ways. They carried out an investigation to answer the question ‘How strong is my magnet?’ Children used rulers to take careful measurements and recorded their observations in the tables of results.

We are looking forward to our trip next week to see the pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ in the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch. Aspen and Cedar are going on Tuesday 4th December. Chestnut and Birch are going on Thursday, 6th December.

Have a lovely weekend.
