In Literacy this week, we have read and discussed the story “The Whales’ Song.” Children talked about the main events of the story and created their own story maps. They have also analysed the characters’ views, feelings and emotions.
In Maths, pupils have been learning about fractions. They have learnt how to display a fraction in a variety of ways and how to calculate fractions of quantities. Children have also solved fraction problems.
To celebrate Black History Month children have learnt about Windrush. They found out about the lives of the Caribbean people who arrived in the UK between 1948 and 1971.
This half term our new topic is The United Stated of America. Children are very excited to learn as many fascinating facts as possible about this country.
On Friday our school celebrated Global Citizenship Day. We have had many interesting discussions in our classes. Children were very enthusiastic to explain what being a global citizen meant to them. They also shared ideas about how we could all make the world we live in a better place.
Have a lovely weekend.
