In Literacy this week, children wrote their own information texts about the rainforest. Pupils worked with their partners and each of them created a separate section of a book. In their books, you can read about animals, climate, plants, rainforest layers or rainforest products. Later this week, we practised using capital letters and full stops correctly in a longer piece of writing.
In Maths, pupils have learnt about 3D shapes. They revised names and properties of 3D shapes. Then children have built shapes with cubes, identifying the number of square faces in each shape. Thy have also created their own skeletal outlines of 3-D shapes.
In Science, pupils have planned and set up a fair test investigation to find out the effect of removing the leaves from a growing plant.
In Topic, children have learnt about the causes of deforestation. They were also giving their own reasons why the rainforests should be saved and expressed their opinions about the process of deforestation.
We would like to remind the children and their Parents/Carers that Rainforest Projects are due in by Thursday, 18th October.
Thank you for your support.
Have a relaxing weekend.
