This week in Literacy, we have been describing different characters. Children were defining personality and appearance of characters giving examples. They also came up with a variety of effective adjectives and similes to describe their characters. Pupils also described their favourite teacher’s appearance and personality. Soon you will be able to see fantastic examples of those descriptions on our Superstar Writers Wall.
In Maths we have been working on mental subtraction. Children were using number lines to help them count backwards in 10s from any 2-digit number. We have been also practising and learning our times tables.
In Science, pupils have been learning about the function of a stem. Children carried out an investigation to help them understand how water is transported in plants.
In Art children have been experimenting with watercolour paints. They have learnt how to make a wash, which was later used for painting backgrounds. Those backgrounds will be used soon to create a rainforest picture.
Have a lovely weekend.
