In Literacy this week, children described their favourite animal from the rainforest that they saw last week. They made their descriptions interesting by adding effective adjectives. Later this week pupils have written a recount from the point of view of the main character from the book “The Great Kapok Tree.”
In Maths, we have been practising mental addition. Children have been adding 2- digit numbers to 2-digit numbers. Pupils have also been solving addition word problems. They used their knowledge of place value to help them add numbers correctly.
In Science children investigated different roots of the plants. They made detailed observations about the roots of a plant and described similarities and differences in roots. They also described the function of a root.
In Topic, pupils have learnt about the climate of the rainforest. They completed different graphs to show how temperature and rainfall change in the rainforest and answered a few questions about their graphs.
We wish you a great weekend.
