This week, Year 3 had a wonderful experience visiting Valence library. We really enjoyed exploring the library and learning lots of information. The children were well behaved and an asset to you as parents/carers. We hope the children will be inspired to join the library and explore the variety of books on offer.
In Literacy, we have started learning about dialogue and plays. We have been studying a range of plays from ‘The Twits: A set of plays, adapted by David Wood’. Children have really enjoyed learning about the features of a play script, performing extracts from the plays and writing their own basic play scripts. On Thursday 23rd November, children will be attending a workshop run by the story teller John Kirk based on 'The Twits'.
In Maths, we have been learning about mass and weight. Children have used scales to weigh objects and have learned how to use grams and kilograms.
In Science, children have learned how magnets work and about some every day uses of magnets.
In Topic, we have continued our learning about 'The Polar Regions' as well as creating our own habitat boxes using a variety of materials.
Just a reminder: Please can you remember to bring back the reply slips for the Year 3 Pantomime trip.
