It has been a very exciting week for Year 1! Last week we had a storyteller visit our school who told us stories about how Anansi the spider tricked the hornet, snake and leopard so he could become the king of the stories. The children really enjoyed it and showed outstanding behaviour throughout.
In Literacy, we have continued learning about the story, 'Why Anansi Has Eight Skinny Legs'. The children have really impressed us with their excellent character descriptions.
In Maths, the children have been working extremely hard as they have been completing assessments and recapping a selection of topics. They really impressed us with how much they could remember from their Maths lessons. They should be really proud of themselves! Well done Year 1!
In Geography, we have been learning how to locate different countries in the United Kingdom. The children have been creating fact pages about each country and discussing their features including capital cities.
In Science, we have continued our learning about amazing animals. In R.E. we have really enjoyed ordering and sequencing the Easter story.
We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday!
