New News Story
Friday 25th January 2019
It has been another busy week in Year 1 this week. The children have enjoyed learning more about their new Topics and have all been working very hard!
In Literacy, we have continued exploring the book ‘Man on the Moon’. In lessons, the children have been practising speaking and writing in the first person and past tense. The children were then given the opportunity to write a diary entry from Bob’s perspective. They were very impressive!
In Maths, we have been learning about grouping and sharing. The children have been busy sorting objects into groups of 2, 5 and 10. In Science, Children have been identifying and describing the texture of a variety of different materials.
In History, we have continued our learning about the Wright Brothers and have compared bikes over time. We have thought about what makes a good bike and the problems they had with bikes before the Wright Brothers designed the bike which people still model bikes on today.
Next week we are inviting children to bring in their bikes and scooters from home as part of our Topic learning looking at ‘Marvellous Machines’.
Have a lovely weekend.
