New News Year 1
We have been so busy in Squirrel class this week. Thanks to everyone's kind donations of milk bottles, we were able to end our homes and buildings topic by making an amazing igloo! For the last few weeks we have been learning all about the Inuit people and how they live. We learnt about how they build igloos to shelter from the extreme weather in Arctic Canada and decided to investigate different materials to make our own in Dagenham. The children tested ice, plastic and metal but soon realised that ice quickly melts and that metal is expensive and hard to bend into shape, they therefore decided on plastic for their end product. It has been a fantastic half term and the children have been so engaged and excited, we cannot wait for our next project. Merry Christmas from Squirrel class.
