New News Story 13.12.19
Dear parents and carers,
Our Reception classes had a wonderful time visiting St Mary’s Church on Friday 13th December 2019. The children were able to take part in a variety of different activities to support them in learning about Christmas.
We are grateful to our helpers who supported the classes on this visit, as well as St Mary’s Church who provided the classes with some wonderful activities.
In Literacy have been reading the Nativity story and learning about how Christian people celebrate Christmas.
In Maths, they have been learning all about the number nine. The children have been really busy accessing a variety of activities and games to help them master number nine.
In Phonics we've learned three new sounds: 'b’, ‘f’ and ‘ff’. Help your children to think of and write words /short sentences beginning with these sounds. Also, we’ve learned two new high frequency words: I, said.
Reading– DO please hear your child read/discuss the book with them as often as possible and record in their reading record book so that they can continue to make progress.
