Forming good friendships
This week the children have been reading the book WHATEVER NEXT! by Jill Murphy. The children enjoyed this book because they had a chance to pretend to fly to the Moon in a makeshift rocket! In Literacy, we tried writing a list of what Baby Bear used to make a rocket and also made a list of what we would take to the Moon.
The children also had access to non fiction text about space and the Moon. They watched videos of the 'First man landing on the Moon' and had discussions about space and how the Moon looked different to where they lived.
In maths, they have been learning about the number two. Children had access to a variety of activities to help them master number two.
In Phonics, the children have been playing listening games again. They have also started segmenting and blending words using robot arms all in preparation to start learning their phonemes (sounds) after half term.
The children have also been focusing on making good friendships and making sure they are aware of others feelings. They also made a friendship badge and discussed what it means to be a good friend.
