GOOD TO BE ME
Good to be me
We are very pleased with how well the children have settled so far. We have enjoyed getting to know the children and enjoyed watching them form new friendships with their peers. Our main focus during the first few weeks will be to help the children to make new friends and to develop their confidence and independence as they use the continuous provision areas in the classrooms. We are pleased to say that they chose their own resources and areas to use over the last couple of days, and were great at tidying everything away too!
We have continued reading 'Owl Babies' this week. We got the children to think about how the owls were feeling in different parts of the story and tried to relate it back to personal experiences. The children enjoyed retelling the story in their own words and had a try retelling a simple past event of their own.
In Maths we are focusing on the number one. Children have been able to access activities to master number one in their learning.
We are continuing with listening games and have tried to identify environmental sounds to instrumental sounds. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this. Maybe you can play a listening game on the way to school or on the way home.
Just a reminder that all clothes are to be clearly labelled with your child’s name to avoid them getting lost. Also please send a water bottle clearly labelled with your child's name.
