Well done to everyone!

Firstly, the Reception team would like to say a massive well done to our new Reception children. They have all settled extremely well and are really enjoying their Reception experience. All children are beginning to make some lovely friendships and are having a great time joining in with all of our exciting activities.

Our focus story this week is 'Owl Babies' by Martin Wadell. The themes in this story have been brilliant in supporting the children in their understanding of the transition period of starting Reception.

To further support our learning we have been looking at numbers and have started to try and recognise and count objects.

We have also been engaging in the topic of 'Good to be me' which has given us the opportunity to get to know our friends and tell them about our likes and dislikes. This has enabled the children to make positive relationships with all of the children and adults in the classroom.

In addition, we have been playing listening games during circle time. This is to help us identify different sounds in the environment and to help us focus during carpet time.

Once again WELL DONE and we look forward ro continue this exciting learning journey in Reception!
