Reception Newsletter 14th June
We have enjoyed planting seeds.
We continued reading ‘The Tiny Seed’ by Eric Carle. We planted our own seeds and we are now watching excitedly as they change and grow.
This week we have had more opportunities to count and to recognise numbers around us. We have continued to add and subtract and we are getting so good at doubling!
Our Phase Three sounds this week are air and ure. We have had lots of fun reading and writing words with these sounds in. We have had a recap of all the high-frequency words that we have learnt so far.
When you are reading with your child at home, please remember to regularly practice the HFWs in their word packs.
We have all enjoyed reading lots of different books this week. As well as sharing ‘The Tiny Seed’ as a whole class, we have read to adults and have enjoyed sharing books from the book corner and school library with our friends.
As we get back into our routines please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school. All items of clothing must be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Please read with your child regularly and let your child’s teacher know by signing their Reading Record Book. Any child who we can see has read at home three times a week or more gets a certificate to celebrate their hard work.
