reception News Story

What an exciting last week of the first half of the Spring term this was! On Wednesday 13th February and Thursday 14th February, Reception classes went to visit Valence House. The children have had a fantastic time and they learnt a lot about toys from the past and toys from our days. They took part in different activities such as story telling, museum trail and a lovely workshop where the children have been given the opportunity to make peg dolls. Thank you to all the people who have been involved and made this trip possible for us. We definitely enjoyed it!
For the next half-term you can support your child by: -Reinforcing this half-term’s learning Reading every night and signing their reading records Some children have shown brilliant development this half term .If you can upload a video of your children reading at home, we would love to see this and share with the whole class. If your child is confident reading the book, see if your child can sound out the words in their head. This is where your child no longer needs to sound out the letters out loud and does it in their head. They only have to say the word out loud. We would love to see this video footage as this is a brilliant accomplishment. Ensuring they complete their homework Ensuring your child can put their jumper, coat, hat, scarf and gloves on independently

Just a quick reminder! Punctuality and attendance is extremely important, Children must be in school every day and on time. Literacy or Maths will start at 9.05am sharp; If your child is late they will miss a vital part of their lesson. Please ensure that your child has named all their pieces of clothing to help them and us make sure they have the correct clothing.

Another quick reminder…the children are going to start their PE lessons so please remember to send your child’s PE kit in school after the holiday. We look forward to seeing you after the half-term! Have a lovely and restful holiday.
