Barking Park trip

This week, three classes went to Barking park as part of our Science topic on plants. The children were excellent travelling to and from the park and had a great day when there.

They learnt about the parts of a plant, how bees pollinate a plant and pretended to be the bees doing all the pollinating by painting circles onto a paper flower.

Later, they did some acting, where they pretended to be flowers growing  and made plant cocktails, using different items they found on the ground. Everyone like the smell of the cocktails with rosemary and lavender.

Just before we left we found minibeasts in the part of the park which was more like a forest, and we found lots of small bugs.
