New News Story
This week was a very important week at Grafton, it was ‘Rights Respecting week’.
On Monday, the children learnt about how to stay safe with a particular focus on ‘Our bodies belong to us’. They enjoyed joining in with the ‘Pantosaurus song’, which focuses on embedding the message of how to stay safe.
On Tuesday, we talked about Identity. Children had the opportunity to hear all about their class teacher’s identity, followed by the children talking about their own identities, discussing similarities and differences with their classmates. Pupils then enjoyed filling out ‘Dot Com, All about me’, identity books.
On Wednesday and Thursday, they enjoyed a variety of topics based around other people’s rights, how they are being met and what we can do to support these Rights.
They learnt about endangered animals around the world, focusing on the reasons why animals are becoming endangered, what we can do to help and what interventions other people and communities are putting in place around the world to help.
We had a healthy day where we talked about different ways to stay healthy.
The children also had the opportunity to make and eat fruit kebabs where they tried a variety of six fruits. Melon was their favourite!
Friday was also linked to being healthy. The children took part in their Sports day.They really enjoyed being part of a team and completing the different challenges.
