Friday 15th June 2018
This week has been a very exciting week in Year 5. In Literacy, the children have continued learning about the narrative film 'The Piano'. They have really enjoyed looking at the main character in more detail and have written some amazing empathetic thought bubbles describing his feelings.
In Maths, we have been learning about symmetry and reflection. The children have really impressed us with their prior knowledge of reflection and have flown through the challenges that they have been set this week.
On Thursday, it was great to see all the children dressed up in their Ancient Greek costumes. We were so impressed with the effort they put into their costumes and we would like to thank everyone who helped. It was a really fun day and the children all enjoyed themselves. They took part in Olympics, design and created masks and clay pots and they also learnt about the popular food eaten in Ancient Greece - and they even got to taste some for themselves!
We would like to remind all parents and carers that the school will be hosting the Summer Fete next Thursday 21st June. We hope to see lots of you there enjoying the sunshine and helping us to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Grafton Primary School.
Enjoy your weekend!
