It's been another busy week in Year 5 this week. The children have been working really hard and we would like to say how proud we are of their attitude this time of the year.
In Literacy, the children have finished reading 'Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady'. They enjoyed learning about the different themes in the book and also took part in a class debate. We were really impressed with the arguments the children put forward and how they were able to use evidence from the text to support their opinions.
In Topic, the children learnt about the origins of the Marathon. They were intrigued with how it began, and how it has changed over the years.
The children have really enjoyed designing their haunted house projects for D&T this week. Thank you to parents and carers who brought in materials for the children to use.
On Friday, it was amazing to see all of the children dressed up for our celebration of the Royal Wedding. We celebrated the event by hosting a street party's in the playground. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon where the children were able to have some cakes and biscuits whilst enjoying the sun.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Year 5 team.
