Friday 11th May 2018
We hope you enjoyed the lovely weather we have been having this week. It’s been another short week for us again, but the children in Year 5 have continued to work really hard.
In Literacy, we are continuing with our book ‘Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady’. The children have enjoyed looking at the characters and are beginning to write a speech, from King Arthur’s point of view, retelling the story of what happened on his journey.
In Maths, the children have looked at decimals and percentages. They have shown great resilience whilst finding percentages of amounts.
During Topic lessons, the children learnt about the Olympics and how they originated from the Ancient Greek period. They really enjoyed comparing some of the weird and wonderful sports the Greeks used to play in the Olympics compared to the ones they know today.
We would like to remind parents and carers to kindly bring in any recycled materials for the children to use for their D&T project that they will be making in the next few weeks.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Year 5 Team.
