Friday 9th March 2018
This week, in Year 5, has been a very busy and exciting week. In Literacy we have continued to look at the narrative poem ‘The Highwayman’. The children have worked really hard in rewriting part of the poem into a narrative. They have included some wonderful imagery and great dialogue and we have been very proud of the work they have achieved.
In Maths, we have been finishing our work on fractions and are beginning to look at data handling. We will be thinking about why graphs and bar charts are a good way to present data.
In Topic, we have learnt about how England is split up into different counties. Children were able to use a map of the U.K to help them locate different counties.
On Thursday, we had an exciting day celebrating World Book Day 2018. The children came into school looking fantastic in some very imaginative costumes. It was really nice to see the children making such an effort to promote the joy of reading!
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
