Friday 2nd February 2018
The Year 5 team have been really impressed with the Space projects the children have brought in so far. We have seen some imaginative creations and they are really brightening up the school corridors. Thanks to all the parents and carers who have helped the children.
We have been really busy in Year 5 this week. In Literacy, we have continued with our persuasive writing topic. The children have been collecting arguments to persuade Mr Nicholson that break times should not be banned. They have begun to write formal letters to him to convince him that break time is a vital part of the school day.
In Maths, the children have been exploring angles. We have revised the different types of angles and the children are beginning to measure and draw angles accurately.
In Topic, we have continued with exploring The Vikings. The children began debating some whether some of the rules during the Viking period were respectful and fair.
On Friday, Year 5 were lucky enough to be visited by the Planetarium Roadshow. The children really enjoyed the visit and learnt a lot about the constellations in a unique and exciting way.
Have an enjoyable and restful weekend,
The Year 5 Team
