Friday 6th October 2017
This week in English, we have watched a storytelling performance of ‘Boudicca’; and during the show some of the children were chosen to be actors too! Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed the show, and today they wrote a review of the performance and highly recommended it to all.
Coordinates and translating shapes has been our focus in Maths this week. Please encourage your children to use Mathletics at home to earn points and receive certificates and also practise recalling times tables. Children are expected to know and recall all of their times tables by the end of Year 4.
In Science we are investigating tooth decay; the children thought of a scientific question and made predictions for the experiment. We have left boiled eggs soaking in coke, vinegar, milk, water and coke, and our focus is to look at the impact of the liquids on the shell. During Topic lessons children studied Emperor Hadrian and Hadrian’s wall.
Please remember Roman Day is on Friday 13th October, the children can dress up as a Roman emperor or soldier, a slave or Boudicca. For safety reasons please ensure your child is wearing sensible footwear for the day.
