The children really enjoyed their exciting visit from Snakes Alive today - we had the opportunity to get up close and encounter some real reptiles as well as learning interesting facts about the animals. It was a fantastic experience and the children loved it!
In Literacy, we have been celebrating Black History Month by looking at the 'Underground Railroad' and producing a class freedom quilt. The children then wrote their own freedom poems explaining what freedom meant to them.
In Art, we have come to the end of our time studying Rousseau. Children have completed their fantastic final pieces of work which can now be seen on our rainforest display.
In Maths, we have been practising counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s and have worked on our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. In multiplication, we have used multiplication facts to solve multiplication word problems.
In Science, we have been learning about the functions of a stem and the flowering plant’s life cycle.
Just a reminder: can all children make sure they bring to school jogging bottoms and socks for Outdoor PE. Please can you also remember to bring in shoeboxes as we are making Polar Region habitat boxes after half term as part of our topic learning.
All Year 3 classes are visiting Valence library next term:
Chestnut and Birch – Tuesday 7th November between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.
Aspen and Cedar – Wednesday 8th November between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.
We hope you have a fantastic half term!
