We have been overwhelmed by the amazing rainforest projects made by the Year 3 children. We really appreciate all your excellent efforts. Please continue to bring them in.
This week in Literacy, we have been learning about performance poetry. All year 3 classes have listened to, read and performed a range of poems written by Michael Rosen. We have been exploring and identifying rhythm, rhyme and repetition in poetry. We then wrote our own versions of performance poems and performed them to the class.
In Maths, we have been looking at 3D shapes. Children have had lots of fun making models of 3D shapes, as well as learning how to describe and classify them.
In Science, we have been learning how to describe plants. We have investigated and compared the similarities and differences in a variety of leaves and roots.
In Topic, we have continued studying the rainforest and have learned about the causes of deforestation. We will have a visit from Snakes Alive to see some real reptiles next week!
Just a reminder - can all children make sure they bring to school jogging bottoms and socks for Outdoor PE.
All Year 3 classes are visiting Valence library next term:
Chestnut and Birch - Tuesday 7th November between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.
Aspen and Cedar - Wednesday 8th November between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
