It has been one of the hottest and one of the most exciting weeks in year 3. In Literacy, we wrote a postcard from Crayons to Duncan and an informal letter from Duncan to Crayons, the main characters of the book, ‘The Day the Crayons Quit.’
In Maths, children have been adding and subtracting money. They have also solved reasoning problems involving money.
Next Week is our Assessment Week. Pupils will take their tests in Maths, Reading, Spelling and Grammar.
In Science, we continued learning about healthy bodies. Pupils identified similarities and differences between different animals’ skeletons. They also researched animals that have skeletons inside their bodies and compared them to animals that do not. Children also designed a vertebrate and its skeleton.
On Thursday we went to Colchester Zoo and had a wonderful time. The whole day was packed with many exciting activities. We all enjoyed visiting different animals, such as parrots, lions, flamingos, chimpanzees, giraffes and many more. Children took a ride through an African landscape with the chance of seeing some of the amazing species who inhabit this part of the world. They also enjoyed feeding an elephant. It was such an eventful day and we all had so much fun.
Year 3 Sports Day will take place on Monday 9th July 2018 at 9:15 in Valance Park.
All Parents and Carers are more than welcome to come and support their children.
We wish you a relaxing weekend.
