In Literacy this week, children have practised using present tense in their sentences. They have also learnt how to use embedded clauses. Pupils enjoyed reading and discussing the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit.’ They put themselves in the roles of characters from the book and used their facial expressions to show how their characters were feeling. Then they wrote informal letters from the point of view of a character from the story.
In Maths, we have been learning about capacity and volume. Pupils now know the difference between capacity and volume. Children have learnt how to read scales marked in millilitres. They also compared and added capacities together and recognised fractions in capacity.
In Science pupils identified the important things that need to be considered in order to survive. They thought of relevant questions about what they need to survive. They also considered their solutions to the questions and identified what animals need to survive.
In Topic, children have started learning about healthy bodies. We identified different food groups and designed our own Eat Well Plates. We had a lot of fun doing this!
We hope you all have a relaxing weekend.
