Hello and welcome back after half term. We hope you had a restful and relaxing break. The last half term before summer holidays is going to be very busy in year 3 and we have got a lot of exciting activities coming up!
In Literacy this week, we have been experimenting with figurative language. Children have been very creative using their own metaphors and similes to describe different pictures. We have also explored different methods of storytelling and discussed how pictures can be used to tell a story. Children have also written their own stories using similes and metaphors.
In Maths, pupils have been calculating fractions of numbers. They have also been counting up and down in tenths. Pupils have also been recognising equivalent fractions and solving fraction word problems.
In Science, children have learnt how soils are made and listed some properties of different types of soils. They observed different soils very closely and grouped them according to their properties.
If you want to continue to explore rocks and soils at home on the computer, try the link below from the BBC website. Enjoy.
On Friday children participated in the Soccer Aid Challenge and took part in an obstacle course to raise money for UNICEF so that more children around the world can grow happy and safe. We all had a fantastic time while raising money for charity.
Have a great weekend.
