It has been a very hectic week in year 3. In Literacy, pupils have been exploring thesauruses. They have learnt why dictionaries and thesauruses are useful and how they can help us improve our vocabulary. Pupils have also learnt how to use different types of conjunctions and adverbial phrases in their sentences.
In Maths, children have learnt different methods of multiplication. We have praised how to multiply numbers by using partitioning and how to use the formal method for multiplication.
In Science, pupils sorted rocks according to their properties. We have also talked about different types of igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks.
We have spent a lot of time this week practising for our Stone Age Play, which turned out to be a great success. All the children were fantastic in their roles. We all enjoyed their singing, acting and dancing. They also looked absolutely stunning in their Stone Age costumes. Thank you to all Parents/ Carers for your support and thank you for coming and watching our wonderful Year 3 children. We are very proud of them.
Have a relaxing and safe half term.
