In English we have started reading and discussing the story ‘Bill’s New Frock’ by Anne Fine.
First children used clues from the front cover to make a prediction about the story. Later in the week we wrote a diary entry from Bill’s point of view who is the main character of the story.
In Maths, we have been learning about place value of numbers. Pupils compared and ordered numbers up to 1000. Then they partitioned three- digit numbers and solved number word problems.
In Science, we have continued investigating rocks and soils. This week, children have explained what they already knew about rocks and soils. They got familiar with key vocabulary and learnt how fossils can be formed.
In Topic, we have continued exploring the Stone Age. Pupils have learnt about early humans and the Palaeolithic period. They looked at an excavation of a cave and wrote a description of what they thought could happen in the cave by looking at the evidence in the picture.
We have been also preparing for our Stone Age play. Please, keep practising your parts and songs at home because time is ticking away!
We wish you a great weekend.
