In Literacy this week, children wrote their own conversations between Alice and the caterpillar, whom she met in the Wonderland. Pupils had to remember about putting inverted commas when their characters were talking and punctuating speech correctly inside the inverted commas. Children also retold the story of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ using the App on the Ipads called Toontastic.
In Maths, we have been learning about Statistics. Pupils interpreted and presented data using tables and charts. They have also learnt how data can be shown in a pictogram, where a picture represents two units. Children have also been answering questions about the data in tables, charts and pictograms.
In Science this week children have been planting their own vegetables. They will continue next week. We have already learnt how to look after a plant so it can grow strong and healthy. This is why we believe that our plants are going to be absolutely amazing.
In Topic, pupils have learnt about the ancient Egyptian beliefs. They have found out that people in ancient Egypt believed in many different gods and each god was responsible for a different aspect of life. Children have also learnt about the process of mummification and how it was done step by step.
We would like to remind all the Year 3 children about bringing their homework in on a regular basis. They should remember to hand it in every Monday at the latest. Well done to those children who have been doing their homework regularly and on time.
Have a lovely weekend.
The Year 3 Team.
