In English, we have started exploring imaginary worlds. Children have read the beginning of ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ Then they described Alice’s journey through the magical hole, which took her to the magical world full of mysteries and intriguing creatures.
In Maths, children have been measuring various objects in centimetres and millimetres. They have also learnt how to draw straight, accurate and neat lines using a ruler. Pupils have applied their knowledge of centimetres and millimetres to measuring every day objects. First, they had to estimate how long an item was and after exact measuring, children found the difference in lengths between two different items. They used rulers and measuring tapes.
In Topic, children have learnt about the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb by Howard Carter in 1922. Pupils looked at some pictures of the items found in the tomb and discussed what the items told them about Tutankhamen and life in Ancient Egypt. Children enjoyed acting out the scene of opening of the tomb by Howard Carter and his team of archaeologists.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, however please keep safe and warm in the adverse weather conditions.
