In English, children have made notes about ancient Egypt from various sources, such as topic books or reliable websites. Then they came up with the most effective headings, which were later used in our class reports. At the end of the week children created their own class reports about life in ancient Egypt.
In Maths we have been learning about fractions this week. Now pupils should know the difference between the denominator and numerator in a fraction. They have been also ordering fractions and used division to help them find a specific fraction of a number.
In Science we are going to learn about plants this half term. This week children have created their own topic pages for plants, using ‘What I Already know.’ They have also labelled the picture of a flower with key vocabulary, such as pollen, stamen, bud.
We have celebrated Chinese New Year in Year 3 this week. This year is the year of the dog. Pupils have designed their lucky Chinese envelopes, which are the symbols of happiness and prosperity.
