To support families with only one device and multiple children across the school, we are going to introduce Screen-Free days directly after half term (week of the 22nd of February). The children are currently completing all their learning through screens and we are aware this is not how many of them would learn normally and would generally spend less time on technology during a day. These Screen-Free days will benefit children in terms of reducing their screen time. Each year group will have one Screen-Free day per week. Please see below for your child's/children Screen-Free day.
These screen-free days will be an opportunity for children to complete other knowledge and skills-based learning. Teachers will post a range of activities on their Google Classroom pages in advance of their Screen-Free day each week. These days are a great opportunity to encourage independent reading, PE, Art, D&T, Music as well as larger long-term projects that could run for several weeks such as writing a year group book, creating a nature hunt, designing board games and life skills such as cooking.
