What is a Read-a-thon?
A Read-a-thon is an event where children get the opportunity to read as many books as they can within a short space of time- in this case 3 weeks.
How does it work?
Pupils choose what they want to read from comics to classics – anything goes.
They ask friends and family to sponsor them. This can be per page, per book or just a specific amount.
Children then have from the 9th-13th to bring in the money they have raised along with their sponsorship form.
Article 17: Every child has the right to reliable information from books, newspapers, computers and other sources, as long as it is not harmful.
