'Read Aloud' Event
Grafton pupils show off literacy success at ‘Read Aloud’ event in the British Library.
We were overwhelmed with the response our children received from our recent trip to the British Library. Everyone is proud of the children who attended this wonderful event. Please see the letter we recieved from one of the organisers below. You can also follow the link to the full news article here in the Dagenham Post.
Dear Mr Nicholson,
I wanted to thank you for allowing your Reading Recovery teachers and children to come to the launch of the Read Aloud at the British Library this week. In my role as Reading Recovery National Leader, I spend my time visiting schools across the country - so I meet a lot of teachers and children. The staff and children at your school were amazing and it was such a pleasure to have them at the event – we had so many comments from our UCL Institute of Education staff and also from the British Library staff saying how much they enjoyed meeting the children and teachers and how really lovely they were. They really do stand out from all the groups of children I have met over the many years that I have been doing this job as exceptionally nice and very well behaved children. Their attendance made the day really special.
I am sure you know how fantastic your staff and children are but I wanted to let you know we all thought they are amazing too!
