welcome back to spring 2
Firstly, welcome back and we hope that you have had an enjoyable (and restful) break. We are now into the business end of the year, with SATs looming large.
In Literacy, we have been looking at the end of Ice Trap where we have learned the fate of Shackleton and his crew. We have predicated what we think may have happened, what the crew may have been feeling and using our summarising skills to write a review of the story. The children have also produced a class poem based on the events leading up to the climax of the story. The children have really engaged in this story and we have been really impressed with the quality of their work.
In Maths, our focus has been on angles. We have been calculating angles within triangles, across straight lines and around points. The children (and staff) have found this tricky but have stuck at it and we have been impressed with their efforts. Remember that angles in a triangle add up to 180!
In Topic we have been finishing off our fact files and evaluating them and in Science, we have completed our end-of-unit assessment.
Just a reminder of our upcoming trip to the Centre of the Cell and World Book Day which are coming up in the next few weeks.
Have a great weekend.
