Where is the half term going?
Well, another week has flown by! It has been another great week in Year 6 with some excellent work across many subjects.
In Literacy, we are continuing to read Macbeth and the children have fully engaged in the story. As a result, they have produced some outstanding pieces of writing. We have been creating vocabulary banks and using these to create some superb pieces of suspense writing. The children have been working really hard on creating the right atmosphere and we are really pleased with the outcomes.
In our Maths lessons, we have been continuing to look at measurement and converting units of measurement. We have also been revising the topics we have covered ahead of our termly assessments next week.
In Science, we have moved on to investigating exercise and how that affects our heart rate. The children recorded their own data and then had to choose the best way to present the data. This was a very good lesson and we learned plenty about the heart and how important it is to keep it healthy.
In Topic, we started to learn about the way that certain groups of children were treated during WW2. We focussed on the persecution of Jewish children by Hitler. This allowed some very thoughtful and interesting debates. Next week, we will move on to look at Anne Frank and how she and her family hid from the Nazis.
Next week will be our Assessment Week. This is nothing to worry about and the children should see it as an opportunity to show how much they have learned so far this year. We know you have all made lots of progress and here is your chance to show us. Remember you can only do your best and to keep smiling
Have a lovely (long) weekend
