Friday 12th July
IT IS SHOWTIME...Well almost
As the end of term rapidly approaches, the Year 6 pupils are almost ready to wow everyone with their brilliant performance of The Lion King. We have had 3 dress rehearsal and the feedback we have had is amazing. The performance is getting better and better with each performance and we can't wait to show the parents and families next week.
In class we have been looking at being stranded on a deserted island and have produced some really good written work. We have been working on producing some very interesting 'messages in a bottle', useful survival guides and some excellent descriptions of the setting that the children have invented.
In science we have been learning about electricity. The children have really enjoyed looking at the history of power as well as learning the different symbols and teh correct terminology for the components of a circuit. Next week we will be attempting to make our own circuits using the knowledge from our lessons this week.
Just a reminder that the Lion King performances are next week. Tuesday for Willow and Holly parents and Wednesday for Mulberry and Beech classes. Both performances start at 2.00pm.
The Year 6 team are also very busy planning and arranging the Year 6 Leavers' Disco on Monday 22nd July. A huge thanks to the parents and families who helped raise over £350 towards the event and we are looking forward to what will be a great event. All of the money raised will be going towards the cost of the events as well as some other little treats.
Have a good weekend.
