Friday 22nd March
Week 4 of the half term has been another brilliant week for all in Year 6. Our literacy lessons have been based on writing our own personal statements as we attempt to gain a place as part of Shackleton’s crew. We have been looking at the content of good personal statements and thinking about the skills and qualities that Sir Ernest would have been looking for.
In maths we have been looking at statistics and data handling. Line graphs, bar charts and frequency tables have all been on show and we are now experts at them.
For Global Citizen Day we had some very interesting debates around gender equality. We looked at gender stereotypes and how these have changed over time. The teachers were amazed by the number of children who gave excellent and balanced arguments on a very interesting topic.
Next week is assessment week for the children. This is a chance for them to all show how much progress they have made since the start of the year. We are all confident that everyone will do brilliantly.
Have a good weekend.
