This week we have been really busy in Year 6. In Literacy, the children have really enjoyed reading the short story 'The Fib'. First of all, we write a diary entry from the main character's point of view. Towards the end of the week, we have begun to think about how the story might end. The children have been very creative and have discussed what they think will happen to the main character, which they will write next week.
In Maths, we have been learning about negative numbers. We have used number lines to help us work out calculations involving negative numbers. Towards the end of the week we have looked at BODMAS to help us work out come challenging calculations.
In Science, we are beginning to learn about our new topic based around classification. We recapped our knowledge of the different groups of animals and then the children have started to look at ways in which we can classify them.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
The Year 6 team.
