This week we have had a very busy week in Year 6. Throughout the week we completed our Maths and English assessments. In Literacy, we used our knowledge of suspense writing to create the opening of a suspense story based on a picture and a sentence opener. The children worked really hard and produced some fantastic suspense pieces independently, showing off their high level vocabulary.
In Maths, we continued to complete our unit of work on 3D shapes whilst also revising some of our arithmetic skills.
The children have really enjoyed designing and creating their air raid shelters in D&T. Whilst they are still not fully completed, the children are finding ways to improve their structures to make them more sturdy.
In Science, the children learnt about how the circulatory system works. They looked at how and why blood is pumped around the body.
We hope you enjoy a restful weekend,
The Year 6 team.
