Friday 23rd November 2018
This week, in Literacy, we have continued reading and discussing Shakespeare's Macbeth. The children are really enjoying the story and were disappointed that we couldn’t continue reading the end of the book . We began looking at the features of suspense writing and the children were then able to use these techniques to create their own 'missing scene' for Macbeth. We are really impressed with their writing and we have enjoyed reading some tense pieces of work.
In Maths, we have started looking at 3-D shapes. The children have revised the properties and have started constructing nets of different shapes.
In D&T, the children are beginning to construct their own air raid shelter. After planning their shelters, the children started building them which we will continue with next week.
We would like to remind children that they need to return the slips for our trip to The Barking Broadway Theatre to see ‘Beauty and the Beast' in the week beginning 10th December 2018.
We hope you have a lovely and restful weekend,
The year 6 Team.
