Friday 9th November 2018
In Literacy this week, the children have been learning about war poetry. Using the short film 'Behind the Lines' as inspiration, the children have been using figurative language to create powerful imagery. With this week being the lead up to Remembrance Day, the children have been really engaged with the topic and have produced some fantastic work.
In Maths, we have been working hard to finish our unit about fractions. We have been adding and subtracting mixed numbers and have also been solving fraction problems.
In Science, the children had great fun investigating the colour of light. We made colour wheels using both CD templates and card with string. The children them used speed to spin them and noted how the rainbow colour changed.
We would just like to remind parents and carers that we will be celebrating Children in Need next Friday. Tickets for the 'Movie Night' will go on sale Monday morning, before school, in the playground on a first come first serve basis. On Friday the 16th, the children are asked to wear something spotty for a £1 donation.
Have a lovely weekend
The Year 6 team.
